Today, July 13, our 2025–26 Civic Interns had their first Meet-and-Greet at the Miller Branch Library! Thirteen student interns connected with ten elected officials through a series of lively icebreaker games—including “Up,” where everyone raced to recall names and favorite celebrities (special shoutouts to Brad Pitt, Bozo, Cher, Kristin Hannah, and Abraham Lincoln), and a laugh-filled round of “Hot Potato” with rapid-fire questions.

The conversations ran deep, too. Interns and mentors exchanged thoughtful questions like:
🔹 Who has been the biggest influence or inspiration in your life?
🔹 What role should the AAPI community—especially youth—play in local politics?

We’re deeply grateful to the elected officials who joined us today and are partnering with us this year. Your mentorship and insight are truly invaluable to our interns.

Next up: a Capitol Hill tour at the end of July! Stay tuned.
