CAPA Honorary Board Member (HBM)
Purpose:
The purpose of creating this position is to actively engage community members who made significant contributions to CAPA.
Overall:
Current CAPA board members (the Board) and Executive Team Members, including Executive Director, Chief Administrative Officer, Chief Finance Officer, Director of Development and External Affairs (the Team) are not eligible for this position.
Minimum Qualifications:
A candidate is qualified as a HBM candidate if he/she meets at least one of the following:
1. Donated to CAPA $2,000 a year or $5,000 in total;
2. Volunteered for CAPA for 200 hours a year or 500 hours in total;
Notes:
(1) the volunteer hours of the executive team members are qualified.
(2) The non-board-duty volunteer hours of the board members are qualified.
3. Connected CAPA with donors who donated $5,000 or more.
Selection Process:
1. Any CAPA members can nominate a candidate who meets the minimum qualifications.
2. The Board will review the qualifications of the candidate.
3. The individual is confirmed to be a HBM by majority votes of the Board.
Rights of the HBM:
1. A HBM automatically becomes CAPA’s lifetime member.
2. HBMs will be invited to participate in CAPA board meetings.
3. HBMs can provide advice directly to the Board and the Team. His/her advice shall carry more weight when the Board makes decisions.
4. HBMs will be invited to all CAPA events.
5. HBMs does not have voting power in CAPA board meetings.
Termination:
The Board has the power to terminate a HBM by majority votes.
