December 21, 2018 – CAPA was awarded the Horizon Foundation Mental Health Community Engagement grant. Horizon Foundation is a prestigious private foundation in community health in Howard County. We will support the foundation’s goals and objectives to promote mental health awareness by sharing foundation supplied and HCPSS approved materials.

CAPA Held a GT Program Overview Seminar

October 13, 2018 – HCPSS GT Program Overview and Discussion Presented by GT Education Program Coordinator Debbie Blum.

CAPA Co-hosted a Candidates Forum

October 7, 2018 – CAPA and LoKA (League of Korean Association) co-hosted an all-level candidate forum for the 2018 election.

AST Started for School Year 2018-2019

September 30, 2018 – Achieve Success Together tutors for the school year 2018-2019 were recruited and trained.

CAPA Hosted the 2nd Dragon Boat Festival

June, 17 2018 – CAPA-HC hosted the 2nd Dragon Boat Festival to celebrate a traditional Chinese holiday, Duanwu Jie. We invited the Baltimore Dragon Boat Club to demonstrate dragon boat racing at the Centennial Park. This event attracted more than 200 residents.
At the event, we raised $1,000 to help the Ellicott City flood victims and donated through the Community Foundation of Howard County. CAPA plans to establish a tradition to donate to local charitable causes each year through annual Duanwu Jie celebration.
